　秋田県出身者などで構成される秋田県人会は、日本国内はもちろんのほか、海外にはなんと１３もの秋田県人会が組織されており、それぞれの活動を行っています。

     Akita Kenjinkai, an association comprised of people who come from Akita, has affiliated associations in Japan as well as 13 Akita Kenjinkai abroad.

　その中の１つ、アメリカ合衆国・サンフランシスコを中心に組織されている北カリフォルニア秋田県人会会長の大坪洋子さんより、最近の活動の様子をご報告いただきましたので、ぜひご覧ください！

　サンフランシスコ周辺は、この１週間は初夏のような暖かい日が続いております。
一昨日、恒例の秋田県人会があり、全員出席はできませんでしたが、久しぶりに再会し、秋田県の話に花が咲きました。
　今回は、南カリフォルニア秋田県人会とも連絡がとれ、大曲の花火大会のＤＶＤ（２０１３年に内閣総理大臣賞受賞の小松煙火工業さん作成）をいただき、みんなで楽しく鑑賞できました。

     San Francisco this week has been experiencing warm weather like the early days of summer.

    Two days ago we held our regular Akita Kenjinkai meeting, and while everyone couldn’t attend, we reunited with other members for the first time in a while and got to talking about Akita.

    This time we were able to get in touch with the Southern California Akita Kenjinkai and received the Omagari Fireworks Festival DVD (made in 2013 by the Prime Minister’s Award recipient, Komatsu Fireworks). We enjoyed viewing it together.

     A large cherry blossoms festival will be held in San Francisco’s Japan Town on 12, 13, 19, and 20 of next month. Those far away in Akita will probably not be able to come and visit, however, please take a look if you are interested.

The view from the meeting venue. That day the Golden Bridge was shrouded in fog. 

ビルの向こうにはアルカトラズ島です。霞んでいますが、ベイブリッジの向こうがEast Bayです。

On the far side of the building is Alcatraz Island. It is hazy, but on the other side of the Bay Bridge is East Bay.

              東北ＶＳパタゴ二ア(Touhoku VS Patagonia)

　私にとって、自然の多い所といえば、東北のイメージを思い浮かべます（特に秋田県）。山道とか、雪の坂道とか。また、湖のきれいな水とか、森の緑などいっぱいあります。

　アルゼンチンも東北のように自然が多く、南の方には寒い所があります。それはパタゴ二アです。

　アルゼンチンの中では人気のスポットです。いろいろなアクティビティができます。

　例えば遠足、ラフティング、乗馬など。それにアルゼンチンの高校生の卒業旅行先としても人気です。毎晩、パーテイがあります。皆、楽しくダンスをします。もちろん雪で遊びます。もしパタゴ二アの事に興味があればぜひ聞いて下さい。

　　　Cuando pienso en naturaleza, el primer lugar que viene a mi memoria es touhoku(en particular Akita). Los caminos montañosos, pendientes nevadas, el agua limpia de los lagos, los bosques verdes, etc.

　　　En el sur de Argentina, hay un lugar muy parecido a touhoku llamado Patagonia.

　　　La Patagonia es un lugar popular para los argentinos, muchas actividades pueden realizarse, por ejemploexcursiones, raffting, montar a caballo, ademas es el lugar elegido para el viaje de egresados de los alumnos de preparatoria. todos los dias por la noche hay fiestas, todos bailan alegrementente, y porsupuesto se divierten en la nieve.

  フェルナンドの物語(La historia de Fernando)

「ハチ公物語」は、リチャード・ギアの映画も公開されたこともり、世界中の人によく知られています。
　Gracias a la pelicula de Richard Gere todo el mundo conoce la historia de Hachiko.

アルゼンチンでも、ハチ公のような犬の物語があり、「フェルナンドの物語」といいます。

　フェルナンドは、１９５０年代頃にアルゼンチンのチャコ県レシステンシア市で生まれました。

　そこは、私のお父さんが生まれたところでもあります。

　フェルナンドが誰の犬なのかは分かっていませんが、皆この犬のことは知っています。

　フェルナンドは、昼はバガボンドのように町中を彷徨い歩き、夜はシアター、オーケストラのコンサートやリサイタルなどに出没し、アーティストたちのパフォーマンスを近くに座って聞いていたといいます。

　もし、そのパフォーマンスが素晴らしいものであったのなら、フェルナンドはしっぽを振ってその素晴らしさを示し、もし下手だったときには、うなったり吠えたりしていたそうです。

　素晴らしい音楽センスを持った犬で、町のあらゆるイベントに出没し、町中の人に愛されていました。

En Argentina, al igual que Hachiko, existe la historia de un perro llamado Fernando.

Fernando vivio en la ciudad de Resistencia, provincia de Chaco, donde nacio mi padre.

Fernando era un perro conocido por todos, vagaba todo el dia por la ciudad, y en la noche iba al teatro donde escuchaba a los cantantes.

si el cantante era malo Fernando mostraba su desaprobación.

私は、アルゼンチンで組太鼓をしています。

組太鼓というのは、どういったものでしょうか。

太鼓の歴史は、日本の戦争時代から、軍隊で使われていました。

もっとふるいルーツは風神と雷神の物語かもしれません。

最近、１９００時代組太鼓のパフォーマンスを始めました。

秋田の北秋田市（鷹巣）に世界で一番大きい太鼓があります。

En Argentina practico Kumidaiko, pero que es eso?.
El taiko o gran tambor data de una epoca de guerras internas en Japon, era usado por los ejercitos. tambien podemos encontrar un origen mitologico en las leyendas de Fuujin y Raijin.
La diciplina Kumidaiko o ensamble de tambores data del siglo 20 donde se realizo la primera performance de la misma.
En Kita-akita, Akita se encuentra el Taiko mas grande del mundo, si pasan por aqui por favor no dejen de visitarlo.

郷土のうまい！シリーズ Delicious Local Dishes Series!

秋田県と企業包括協定を提携している（株）ローソンは
秋田県産の鮭やしょっつるを使用した
「郷土のうまい！シリーズ」お弁当・おにぎりを開発したそうです。

 LAWSON Inc. concluded an enterprice framework agreement
 with Akita and seems to have developed a lunch and rice ball
 which uses the salmon or shottsuru produced in Akita.
This is for the Delicious Local Dishes Series!

Magewappa~An amazing traditional technique of Akita~ 素晴らしき秋田の伝統技術：大館曲げわっぱ

先日、憧れの秋田の伝統工芸品、大館曲げわっぱのコーヒーカップを手にすることができました！
The other day I got a Magewappa coffee cup that I had been wanting for years.

これは、木をくりぬいて作られた普通のコーヒーカップではありません。
This is not a normal coffee cup hollowed from wood. If it were, it wouldn't be interesting at all...!



杉の木を曲げて造られたコーヒーカップなんです！
But this cup is made by bending thinly shaved Japanese cedar, the wood which has perfectly straight grain running through it.  What an amazing technique we have!




大館曲げわっぱは、約４００年の伝統があり、日本三大美林である天然秋田杉で作られる秋田県・大館市の伝統工芸品です。
Magewappa is a traditional craft technique practiced for about 400 years in Odate city, which is located at the east end of Shirakami-Sanchi mountains (a World Heritage) in Akita.
Magewappa items are fabricated by Akita ceder, one of the three most beautiful trees in Japan.




杉の木を熱湯につけ、やわらかくしたところで曲げて形がつくられます。
The shavings are placed into boiling water, carefully bent when wet and tied up.




杉の木目が美しく、木の香りが心地よく、とても軽くて丈夫、また杉の殺菌効果があり、お弁当や菓子入れなどとしても使われます。
It has a beautiful grain, the scent of ceder, a bactericidal effect and is very light and solid.
For these reasons, they are made into lunch boxes, trays, bowls for cakes and sweets, and more.




近頃、フランスでは、曲げわっぱのお弁当箱を含め、日本の伝統工芸品のお弁当箱が人気だそうですよ
Recently, I heard the lunch box of Japanese traditional crafts including Magewappa, is well-received in France, where the Japanese lunch box (Obento in Japanese) and Japanese Obento culture are getting popular nowadays.




確かに、曲げわっぱのお弁当箱にご飯やおかずを入れると、普通のお弁当で食べるよりも格段においしくいただけそうです！
Indeed, the appearance of a Magewappa lunch box with rice and some dishes should whet our appetite much more than normal lunch box.
I would feel like eating more than usual if i had one.



プラスチックやガラスの製品もいいですが、木のぬくもりと伝統を感じることができる曲げわっぱを一つ、身近で使ってみませんか？オススメします！
